This a series of a bit weirder/darker tracks I made over the last couple of months. I think the spaced-out nature of the songs has its own kind of charm.
Thursday was my first attempt at this style, and it kind of sets the tone for the album. The reverb and phasing over distorted synths simultaneously represent the monotony of day to day and alien nature of what such repetition brings to our imagination
Emperor is interesting evolution of Thursday with a highly aggressive, distant drumbeat achieved through the use of multiple reverbs and delays layered with calming, yet still eerily distant keys and a droning synth.
Lost Days shifts through different styles, but the strings keep the listener grounded in some sort of contorted action movie. It's not clear if you're the protagonist or not, but either way the emotion holds a Hollywood-type of reality in it.
Finally, Sports Car evokes the shininess of 80s rock with the drums and synths of the era, but delivers the sound in grimy, psychedelic nature stretched along a keyboard solo. It looks like a broken down DeLorean washed up on your shore.
